Over the summer, the Massachusetts Governor’s office announced that 450 acres of state-owned land are being made available to help increase the housing supply in the state. By leveraging underutilized state properties – including former state hospitals, vacant buildings and lots, and undeveloped college campus sites – the Commonwealth hopes to accelerate housing production to better serve its residents.
You can learn more about these plans here:
- Press Release from the Governor’s office and Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities

- Auctions for five DCAMM properties on September 10th
As these projects move forward, Nitsch is ready to work with our clients to help these properties better serve their communities – as we have already done for the MCI-Concord Redevelopment project referenced in the Press Release! We worked closely with Agency Landscape + Planning, the lead consultant, providing civil and transportation engineering services to reimagine how this property could be redeveloped.
