Announcing New Transportation Engineering Department Leadership

Following the retirement of Fayssal Husseini, we’re excited to recognize the promotion of two long-term leaders on the Transportation Engineering team! John Michalak, PE, ENV SP, has been promoted to Director of Transportation Engineering; and Stephen Farr, PE, ENV SP, LEED Green Associate, has been promoted to Deputy Director of Transportation Engineering.

John Michalak, Director of Transportation Engineering

John (pictured on the left) has 29 years of experience in civil engineering related to the management and implementation of complex transportation and infrastructure improvement projects throughout New England. His experience includes highway and municipal roadway design, traffic improvements, streetscape enhancements, and multi-use recreational trails. As Director of Transportation Engineering, John is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, business development, and administration of Nitsch’s Transportation Engineering department.

Stephen Farr, Vice President, Deputy Director of Transportation Engineering

Steve (pictured on the right) has 30 years of experience in the engineering field. His experience has centered around the preparation of design documents, development of work schedules and budgets, management of junior engineers, and coordination with various local and state authorities for transportation engineering projects in municipalities throughout Massachusetts. He is also a Vice President of the company and serves on our Board of Directors.
