At Nitsch Engineering, we truly embrace our tagline “Building better communities with you.” These “communities” include the A/E/C industry, the City of Boston where we are headquartered, our employees — both current and future — as well as our employees’ home towns. Both internally and externally, we strive to embody corporate citizenship through sustainable business practices, community involvement, and charitable contributions.

Sustainable Business Practices

As specialists in sustainable site design, we have focused on integrating sustainable best management practices into our projects for more than 15 years. Internally, our “Green Team” has been committed to making our office as sustainable as possible. Nitsch received the City of Boston Green Business Award and was in the inaugural group to become certified as a Sustainable Business Leader through a program of the Sustainable Business Network. Our current office space earned LEED-CI Gold certification.

Community Involvement

Nitsch believes that active involvement in the A/E/C community provides a wealth of benefits for both our staff and the community at large. Currently, 72% of our management/technical staff are members of at least one professional society/organization, with 34% of those serving in some leadership capacity. On top of this, 15% of our staff are currently involved in their local communities, serving on conservation commissions, city/town government committees, school committees, or youth sports organizations. We also give back to the community through educational programs such as our annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. Charitable Contributions

Nitsch works with civic-minded staff to raise money and awareness for a variety of causes, including sustainability, health, and charitable giving programs. Our approach combines corporate donations with opportunities for staff to participate in a myriad of charitable, recreational, and community service activities.
