In 2022, Nitsch Engineering launched a scholarship for college students pursuing a degree in the fields of civil engineering and/or land surveying. The Judith Nitsch Scholarship honors our founder Judy Nitsch’s lifelong commitment to expanding opportunities in the engineering field.
In partnership with the ACEC/MA Education Corporation (a 501(c)3), the Judith Nitsch Scholarship is awarded annually to a student pursuing an engineering or land surveying degree who meets the following criteria:
- Is a first-generation college student;
- Is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree as an incoming junior through senior in college at an ABET-accredited institution;
- Is majoring in Architectural Engineering, Biological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or Land Surveying and Geomatics Engineering;
- Has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;
- Has work experience; and
- Is a resident of Massachusetts OR attending college/university in Massachusetts
Preference is given to applicants who show demonstrated financial need.
Nitsch Engineering funds one $5,000 scholarship per year; additional scholarships may be available based on available funding. The annual scholarship is presented at the ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala.
