Emily Derrig, PE

Civil Project Engineer
She/Her

What do you love most about your job?

“I love that despite how technical it is, there are opportunities to be creative with our designs. Every project is its own puzzle and each person has a different approach to fitting all the pieces together.”

What drew you to working in civil engineering?

“My brain really connects with math, so I wanted to combine that with my interest in the environment, climate, and sustainability. Stormwater design feels like a way to blend those things while having a positive impact on the community!”

What are you passionate about outside of work?

“Outside of work I love practicing yoga, baking, reading, walking the dog, or spending time up in Maine with my family. I’m also a lifelong Red Sox fan and a regular at the ballet!”
