“In this tough economy, finding a way to remain profitable as a company while still providing a satisfying and positive workplace for employees is a challenge,” said Lisa A. Brothers, PE, Vice President and COO of Nitsch Engineering. “We’re proud of our efforts to find that balance, and are always excited to receive the feedback from the employee survey so that we can continue to improve our policies. We’re thrilled that our dedication to providing a collaborative and positive work environment has been recognized by CE News once again! It was also nice to learn that our staff supports Nitsch Engineering’s main goal of being a ‘client focused’ firm – in the survey they identified that as the main attribute that describes our culture.”
The CE News Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work For list is one of the most meaningful rankings in the industry. The annual competition included a corporate survey and an employee satisfaction survey, which were graded and weighted equally by magazine staff. Grading criteria included corporate culture, benefits, compensation, professional development, performance/recognition, and recruiting/retention. By assigning numeric values to each of these categories, CE News determined that Nitsch Engineering was a “destination workplace” for employees. All of the winners were featured in the October 2008 issue of CE News, and can be read about on their website at http://www.cenews.com/article.asp?id=3233.
