We’re proud to announce that Nitsch Engineering has been recognized with the 2025 Workplace Belonging and Engagement Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA)! The award honors firms’ ingenuity, leadership, and commitment to advancing workplace belonging within their firms and the engineering community. Nitsch won in the medium/small size firm (< 500 employees) category.
The judges recognized Nitsch for our commitment and progress to building meaningful partnerships across both our organization and the profession, having an impact in the community, and providing opportunities for advancement of our employees and stakeholders.
As a women-led company in a male-dominated industry, Nitsch has been working to address workforce belonging, inclusion, and engagement issues since our founding in 1989. With our core value of Ethics as a guide, we are committed to consistently “doing the work” to move towards equality in our communities and to create a true sense of belonging within our company.
Over the years, Nitsch has implemented numerous initiatives to foster an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive. Key milestones have included signing the Boston Women’s Workforce Council’s 100% Talent Compact, which aims to close wage gaps (2016); establishing a DEI task force (2017); beginning “Community Circle” meetings to create a safe space for employees to discuss a range of topics (2018); establishing the Council for EDI, a leadership task force that reviews policies and guides corporate investments related to inclusion (2020); achieving the International Living Future Institute’s Just 2.0 certification, demonstrating our dedication to transparency and social justice (2023); and supporting five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) (2018-2024).
As a result of these (and more!) efforts, Nitsch has created an inclusive environment representing and supporting professionals of diverse backgrounds. We remain committed to creating a workplace that values and supports professionals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that everyone can live up to their full potential and bring their authentic selves to work.
