Nitsch Engineering Named 2016 Top Place to Work by The Boston Globe

Company ranked #1 in Medium Firms Category

Nitsch Engineering has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the ninth annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. The company was ranked #1 in the medium firm category, moving up from their #10 ranking in the small firm category in 2015. 366 Massachusetts organizations submitted to the competition this year, with The Boston Globe recognizing the top companies in each of four categories: small (50 to 99 employees), medium (100 to 249), large (250 to 999), and largest (1,000 or more).

Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them the best – the employees. The confidential survey, performed independently by WorkplaceDynamics, measured employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits, giving their employees a voice, and encouraging them to have fun while they’re at it.

“To us, this award recognizes the amazing culture that we’ve built over the past 27 years,” said Lisa A. Brothers, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Chairman and CEO of Nitsch Engineering. “Creating – and then maintaining – a great corporate culture isn’t an accident. It takes dedication to make sure that the things that employees value about our company remain a core part of who we are, even as we grow. The Globe ranking means a lot to us because it means that our employees, who are the heart and soul of our company, recognize the work that we’ve done to create a workplace that provides a friendly and collegial atmosphere, opportunities for exciting work and professional growth, work/life balance, and fun.”

“In today’s tight job market, competition for the best workers is intense,” said Larry Edelman, the Globe’s business editor. “Our winning companies know that creating a motivating and supportive environment is key to finding and keeping talent.”
