Nitsch Engineering is looking for a dynamic Traffic Analyst/Engineer with 4-10 years of hands on practical traffic engineering experience to join our team in the Boston, Lawrence or Worcester Office. The desired candidate must have experience and knowledge with current Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), municipal, and private process and standards.

The successful candidate for this position will perform traffic engineering tasks including data collection traffic impact analysis, traffic signal design, and preparation of reports. To be considered for this position, the candidate must have prior experience in private development permitting, knowledgeable of the MEPA permitting levels of traffic analysis and studies. The ideal candidate must possess good writing and communication skills, be able to make public presentations, and capable of multitasking. It will be advantageous for the candidate to have prior experience in private development traffic impacts and analysis, writing reports, and participated in public presentations. Proficiency in using traffic engineering software and AutoCAD are required. At a minimum, the candidate must be experienced with using the highway capacity manual, Synchro Software, and VISSIM. Qualifications: B.S. Civil Engineering or related field with at least 4 years of related project experience. A master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, PE, and a PTOE certification will be considered a plus.
