Nitsch Engineering provided civil engineering and traffic engineering services to support the development of a Master Plan Study for the Wilmington Public Schools, including Wilmington High School, West Intermediate School, North Intermediate School, Shawsheen Elementary School, Woburn Street Elementary School, Wildwood Early Childhood Center, and Boutwell Early Childhood Center. The project included a comprehensive assessment of existing school buildings and sites and the investigation of options for future improvements.

Nitsch Engineering performed a visit to each school and interviewed the head custodian at each school to collect available data (both positive and negative) and any record documents. We performed research at the Wilmington school facilities department, Wilmington Engineering Department, Wilmington Public Works Department, Wilmington Fire Department, and Wilmington Water Department. In addition, we performed research at the Wilmington Conservation Commission to discuss wetland and habitat concerns associated with each school site. We reviewed these materials and previous studies to evaluate the water, sewer, and drainage systems at each site (in concert with the Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing (MEP) engineer). Nitsch Engineering synthesized this research into an existing condition site assessment report.
