Nitsch Engineering was on the team to develop a vision for a riverfront area of Pittsburgh that is jointly owned by a casino, a science museum, and an intermodal transit center.

We supported the visioning process by analyzing the site hydrology in an effort to preliminarily size LID drainage concepts including integrating bioswales, recycling rainwater via a sustainable water feature, creating a new inlet that would provide additional habitat and recreational areas, and adding a water-centric learning/teaching area associated with the science museum. Nitsch Engineering provided technical support to make sure the different elements of the design team’s vision were attainable.
