Nitsch Engineering provided civil and resident engineering services for improvements to and the realignment of Taxiway D at Logan International Airport. We performed a drainage analysis of the proposed new layout to determine the feasibility of reusing the existing closed drainage system versus making improvements to the closed drainage system design. We based our analysis on rational method calculations and stormwater management. We also performed a site visit and reviewed record information for existing systems, and drafted a report on our analysis of the existing and proposed drainage systems. As the project moved into construction, Nitsch Engineering provided resident engineering services with the goal of making sure that the final project met specifications.
