$300-million Office Tower
Nitsch Engineering provided civil engineering services for the $300-million, 25-story, 590,000-square-foot commercial office tower, a central part of Liberty Mutual’s home office. The new LEED Silver building includes four levels of below-grade parking, and connects to the existing facilities via a glass connector bridge, thus seamlessly integrating the complex. The project also includes a new two-story conference center, as well as a linear park with seating and plantings along Stuart Street.
Nitsch Engineering provided civil/site engineering for the site utilities, as well as permitting with the Massachusetts Environmental Protection Agency, the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the City of Boston Public Improvement Commission, the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Because the project is in Boston’s Groundwater Conservation Overlay District, we worked with the geotechnical engineer to design a system that collects stormwater in a tank and recharges it to the ground via injection wells. Nitsch Engineering also provided construction administration services.
