Boston College, Stayer Hall

Boston, MA
Key Elements
  • Higher education student housing
  • New utilities and stormwater management system
  • City of Boston permitting

The new undergraduate residence hall, built on the site of the former More Hall building, houses up to 490 students in a mix of four-bed and six-bed apartments. The six-story building also includes two adult-in-residence apartments, common areas, outdoor space, and the new home for the Boston College Health Services Department.

Site improvements included the construction of a new vehicular driveway from St. Thomas More Road to the east of the new building, 22 new parking spaces along the new driveway, and new sidewalks, walkways, and plazas that provide pedestrian connections from Commonwealth Avenue and St. Thomas More Road to the existing Boston College Campus pedestrian walkway system. Nitsch provided site utility, stormwater management system, and roadway/parking layout and grading design. We also provided construction administration services and assisted with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission permitting.
