Department: Transportation – Boston and Worcester

Nitsch Engineering is looking for dynamic Transportation Engineers with 4-8 years of hands on practical transportation engineering experience to join our team in the Boston and Worcester Offices. With a 27-year history, we are an established mid-sized engineering firm that provides survey, civil/site, transportation, structural, GIS, and planning services to a wide variety of clients including developers, architects, universities, and state and municipal government agencies. As we continue to grow our market share, we strive to position ourselves and build on our successful model of client delivery by expanding our transportation engineering capabilities. To achieve this goal, we are expanding our geographic presence and we need talented and motivated individuals like you on our team. 

If you are experienced in performing transportation planning tasks, roadway design, drainage design, and utility design, this position is for you.  If you understand the basics of traffic analyses, traffic simulation using Synchro and/or Vissim, traffic signal design, and are familiar with MassDOT and municipal design requirements, you will have the advantage of being considered for this position. If you are self-motivated, have strong computer skills (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a must), have strong attention to detail, and take pride in your work, we encourage you to apply.

A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an EIT are required. A master’s degree in transportation engineering, and certification in LEED and/or ENV SP or PTOE will be considered a plus. The candidate must have a PE in Massachusetts or the ability of obtain one within two years from the date of hire.
